taswira means ‘vision’ in Kiswahili and stands for making Africa-related artistic work visible and accessible worldwide. With our work, we want to contribute to strengthening a positive image of Africa and promote sustainable global development.
As a network, we support artists and creative entrepreneurs from Africa and the diaspora, focusing in particular on creative ‘Agents of Change’ who use their artistry and influence to create positive social change in their communities. We connect them with training, funding and networking opportunities, mentoring, international partners and residency programmes to increase their impact and visibility. Furthermore, we facilitate cross-continental networking to build strong connections between African countries and the diaspora in the creative industries.
The purpose of the association is the promotion of art and culture, the promotion of international spirit, tolerance in all areas of culture and international understanding as well as the promotion of development cooperation
Join our network of diverse African and diasporic artists, creatives and experts in film, music, dance, visual arts, literature, fashion, photography, design, crafts & entertainment that offer further education opportunities, networking, and business know-how. We focus on a holistic approach by integrating various personal development topics (e.g., mental health, entrepreneurship, financial intelligence, self-marketing).
