Be part of taswira!
Join our young team with a wide network of artists, cultural workers, and organizations from the global South (Gabon, Ghana, Cameroon, Madagascar, Uganda, Brazil, and Colombia) and Germany.
We envision the promotion of culture as key to global sustainable development and we focus primarily on supporting cultural projects that tackle the diversity of African realities and convey new perspectives.
We are thus committed to the preservation and care of intangible cultural heritage, women empowerment, stand against racism, and social injustice.
To strengthen our team we are looking for people; who share our values, who are curious, and who want to push the cultural movement with us.
You und taswira, means:
You get involved in a young non-profit organization and become part of an influential, growing cultural movement. You will gain new insights into African cultural heritage and its importance for a sustainable future.
Be inspired by a wide network of the most creative and innovative African and diasporic artists.
Within our project work you can bring in your strengths and gain work experience in the areas of artist management and event organisation, project work, press and public relations, social media marketing, fundraising, IT, controlling and many more.
To put it in a nutshell: You've come to the right place when ...
… you are interested in African arts and cultures and would like to contribute to counteract the lack of modern African images in media and in the educational system of our society,
… you are looking for an honorary position that not only combats the symptoms of the system but also ties in with the source – the mindsets,
… you’ll attend our meetings in Berlin once a week.
